Happy Thursday!!

Todays post is a little different then my previous blog posts. We won’t be chatting about photo sessions, but maybe I’ll find a way to throw in some tips for you! This blog is dedicated to showing you all my workspace!

Working from home has become a new norm this past year or so for a lot of us, and I’m sure we can all relate that it is a huge transformation!

Like all other things in life, work from home offers its pros and cons. I don’t know about any of my fellow at-home employees, but in my opinion one of the largest challenges when working from home is staying on task! My brain jumps from one thing to the next and I swear I am like a dog when a squirrel passes by. Literally anything and everything has the potential to get me side tract! SO, things that help me stay focused and on task are:

1. Making sure that my space is tidy and there aren’t unnecessary items surrounding me that will turn into a distraction or create that anxious feeling I get when things seem sloppy lol (if you don’t need your phone to work, this may be an item you need to separate from your workspace 😉)

2. Have a water at my desk (this way I don’t decide mid-way through working that I’m thirsty and my trip to the kitchen ends up being 20 plus minutes doing who knows what!)

3. Have a planner!!! This is probably the most useful tip out of the three. Physically writing something down in your calendar or to do list and being able to check them off is SO satisfying and creates that urge inside of you to actually focus in and accomplish what you need to do for the day. This super cute planner I have is from Native Bear. I purchased a 12-month undated planner which includes 12 monthly views that have a monthly goal page, 56 weekly views, and 50 note pages! I like using the note section to jot down any research, tips, and specific timelines I want to use during a session (for example if I have four models and I want to make sure I remember what exactly I want to capture with each model/look I'll take note of it!)

P.S I told you there might be some sneaky tips coming your way! SO, now that I squeezed those in, below are some photos of my workspace!

Open Dated Planner

I love my Native Bear open dated planner. I use it to write down things ranging from monthly, weekly, and daily tasks. I also adore the pages that are laid out for you to write down your goals. Each month starts out with a page to fill out your: personal goals, work goals, health goals, and financial goals.

The Desk

This desk and everything on it (okay maybe not so much the mirror lol) represent me! The desk was a purchase from a thrift store, super cute and the perfect size for what I need. I think the knobs on the drawers and the tiny key hole add so much character! Moving from the left to the right we have a wicker organizer that holds my note pad with a bee on it ♥ I love all things wicker I feel like they just add a little boho vibe (if you look close enough you will see that my trash can in the right corner is also wicker!) Above the organizer is a pressed floral frame that I made a few years back! Crafting is my jam to say the least lol. Other items surrounding me would be my great grandfather's film camera, another framed crafty piece that I created with my two amazing little sisters, art work created by local artists paired with photos of baby Camryn aka my wifey, eucalyptus that I dried and put into a vase purchased from a small business owner, a polaroid of my pupper Levi and lastly my Yoga Lenovo! Spoiler, I may have an I phone but I'm not much of an Apple product kinda gal outside of that.
